I'm passionate about helping students succeed with learning math. I tutor elementary math, prealgebra, algebra I, tax preparation, and the math sections for SAT prep, ASVAB and GED. This is my 8th year teaching math at college (from basic math and algebra through statistics and math for liberal arts), and I have been tutoring for 27 years. I am tutoring at college as well as privately. I have a very diverse group of students with various learning styles who I have helped. I've tutored students in elementary school, high school, college and graduate school. I have a certificate of eligibility for teaching K through 5 in New Jersey.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have successfully taught and tutored High School and College Algebra students for seven years. I help students take small, sequential, simple steps to learn Algebra. Although these students initially felt that math was difficult, their self-esteem was boosted as they achieved in a challenging subject.

ASVAB

I have tutored recruits for the ASVAB (math sections) with much success.

Business

I tutor business: accounting, economics, and statistics at a 4 year college, and on my own. I have a Master of Business Administration in finance. I have also taught accounting I and II, and economics I at a 4 year college. I own a small business that prepares tax returns, in addition to tutoring.

Elementary Math

I have a Teaching Certification of Eligibility for K through 5th Grade. I have taught and tutored many students with basic math and beyond.

GED

I want to help you pass the GED and help you move forward with your education and/or career. I can help you learn the math for the GED (I've taught people starting with addition on up) and may be able to help with some of the other subjects also.

GRE

I have tutored Math for students who have done well on the GRE. I teach and/or tutor Basic Math, Algebra, Geometry and Statistics. I have experience tutoring students for other standardized tests: ASVAB, GED, SAT, GMAT, and can help you.
