My name is James, and I have worked as a college professor, and more recently, a freelance writer and proofreader. Further, I have been tutoring since I was an undergraduate in college. I have experience with students from primary school through college. I find tutoring to be an extremely gratifying experience. I find it very fulfilling to help a student in a given subject area and then to see her/him grow in her/his knowledge and ability.
My PhD. is in American Studies from NYU. I lived in the West Village for fourteen years, then two years in Brooklyn, and then moved out here to NJ two years ago.
I am both a published scholarly writer and creative writer. I possess superior proofreading, editing, grammar and punctuation skills. I can write with both a creative, distinctive flair and an academic/business-like concision.
I have a wealth of experience teaching English Composition, Developmental, and other writing courses at both county colleges and universities. Additionally, I have developed and taught literature and American Studies courses.
