I am a successful private tutor with a passion for teaching students from ages 6-60. I create individualized and engaging curriculum for many different skill levels and needs, for many different academic topics. My areas of expertise: Math material through pre-calculus, College and Graduate school admissions counseling, Test Prep; ISEE, SSAT, SHSAT, PSAT, SAT, ACT, SAT 2 Math 1/2, GRE, and GMAT. My favorite part of the tutoring process is being able to focus on one student's learning style and adapt lessons and strategies to that person. My method for the ISEE is to initially proctor a full length diagnostic test to assess a student's strengths and challenges, establish a goal score with the student, and devise a clear curriculum that will help us meet that goal. Timed mini-tests will be assigned periodically to track progress and help me modify my curriculum. This method has been successful for my previous students, as it measures what is being learned/taught.

For visual learners, I provide them with graphic organizers. For kinesthetic leaners, we create hands-on models, use manipulatives, or take brief breaks where they do stretches or exercises to keep them engaged. For students who are aural learners, I show them how to seek out podcasts or video clips that can shed light on topics that are challenging to them. For students that are more scattered, they need simple organizational systems (that they will use) that can help ground their thinking
