I am a Master's student getting my degree in Biology, with a concentration in Ecology and Evolution. I have a great passion for all of the sciences, but a special love for ecology and evolution.
I have experience in several different fields of science: I spent a year and an half working at Rutgers University as a laboratory manager studying population genetics, I was an assistant project scientist focusing on ecology for an environmental consulting company for a year and an half ,and have done three seasons as a field biologist working with endangered shore and grassland birds for NJ's Division of Fish and Wildlife's Endangered Species Program and the NJ Audubon Society.
I have tutored several students on Wyzant as well as substitute teaching throughout my time getting my undergraduate degree, and did public outreach, teaching the public about the importance of ecological conservation and endangered wildlife while working NJ Division of Fish and Wildlife. I love science, and hope to become a college professor when I finish my Master's degree. Tutoring would be a great opportunity to share my knowledge of science, my passion and to help students succeed in a very important and often difficult subject. I tend to be a visual learner, and will include visual aids and diagrams in my sessions to help students obtain a better grasp of the subject material. Sometimes conceptualization is difficult, so I will teach in whatever way works best for the student; I am very flexible. Their success is my success, so we both win when you do well on your next exam!
