Hello! My name is Amanda. I currently teach elementary school children and have previously taught Pre-K 4 in an inclusive classroom. I received my MAT (Masters in Art of Teaching) with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. and Special Education I am licensed to teach Pre-K through 3rd grade, general ed and special ed.
My personal philosophy on teaching is that through understanding the developmental stages children go through, we can make learning the most interesting and meaningful for children! As teachers and parents we have the ability to inspire confidence in our children! In the classroom, I am reminded on a daily basis that there is no one way to learn something! I love to create individual programs that support strengths and develop skills that have been challenging for a student.
The goal I have for each family is to help find creative solutions and strategies that match their child’s learning style while meeting and exceeding their grade level standards! By working together as a team, we will find fun and interesting ways for family members to support your student on their way to success!
Following our initial meeting, each family will receive an evaluative summary of their child’s students strengths and challenge areas. Each student’s program is 100% customized to their needs and areas of interest! Together we can:
-Master any essential skills from the students completed or current grades
-Coordinate with your child’s school teachers on skills they feel would make your student a success in the following grade
-Improve a student’s reading level
-Create games and manipulatives for students to use at home
-Work within the goals of a student's IEP
-Help students gain an edge for the upcoming school year
Feeling a level of comfort is crucial for a young learner! I am available to meet at your home, at a student’s school or care center, or a fun learning place, such as a library or park!
