I am Yearua R., and I have a Masters in Math and a Bachelors in Education from India. I worked as a High School Math Teacher and tutored Math in India for ten years. I had an opportunity to teach Math for Newark Public Schools for three years, here in US.
I taught Math for Performing Arts students in Middle School. I felt a need to update myself with the changing times and updated myself learning computer courses in order to teach well with current technologies. Since then I focused on learning Macintosh applications and Windows applications in personal computers. I am familiar with the popular Application Software for both the platforms.
I believe that learners have inadequacies, in conceptual understanding, because of lack of time, and exams and tests coming at a speed, and many students miss the class room lessons, and differ in learning styles and tutoring helps. I love to teach and tutor various math subjects and at the same time can help with using technology in learning math, namely graphing calculator, geometer's sketchpad, Microsoft Excel, and projection of the content onto displays if needed.
I also want to make sure that their knowledge, understanding, application, analysis and synthesis skills are well grounded.
I want to make and keep a learning log of what has been accomplished, and communicating with them via Email PDF lessons, transferring the assignments and evaluations, document the objectives and work done, show them real world applications through links of Videos relevant to what is being learned.
