I spent over five years teaching in the Military, so I am no stranger to high stress environments, adult learners, and having a high level of patience for individuals that have a harder time with certain topics. I understand that each student learns in a different manner, so I am eager to understand which methods will work the best for everyone. Being a visual learner, I understand things more when I can see, touch, draw, or perform what I am learning; yet I understand that my teaching must include all methods of teaching in order to find the right one.
I believe that when an individual gets to the point where they can explain/teach a topic to another person, it not only shows the teacher/tutor what level of understanding they're at, but also allows the student to reinforce their understanding of the subject. Students should feel free to ask questions, and provide feedback in order to improve my ability to help them succeed.
I have written over 120 papers for college coursework using APA formatting and have proof-read just as many for other students. I am currently a graduate student at Teachers College of Columbia University and have prepared for and taken the GRE.
If you would like additional information, or simply have questions on my experience or methods, please do not hesitate to ask.
