I have tutored in math and physics with many different students in the past, and there are two recurring themes; students need good explanations, and they need practice problems in order to learn. The absence or presence of these factors in a lesson can often make the difference between comprehension and frustration.
Luckily, I not only love math and science, but I love making them accessible and removing their aura of incomprehensibility for those who feel that way. Being creative with my explanations until I hit upon something that works for the student is a special skill of mine.
