Hi.
My name is Bridget. I'm currently working in a combined Kindergarten/first grade class in the West Village. I have also taught first grade in the Bronx. I am a certified teacher in childhood education (1st to 6th Grade), early childhood education (Birth-2nd Grade) and special education.
I received my master's degree from New York University, where I received a dual master's degree in childhood education and special education. I completed three student teaching experiences: in a 1st grade general education class, a 3rd grade general education class, and a 5th grade collaborative team teaching class (Half the students had special needs and half the students were general education students).
I love working with kids! And I am passionate about teaching. I am a very patient and caring individual. As a teacher I work to differentiate the material to meet the needs of all students in my class. I teach whole-class lessons, small groups, and individuals. I spent a lot of time as a student teaching working one on one and in small groups. I can tutor in multiple elementary subjects. I can also help with organizational skills and strategies for students with learning disabilities.
In addition, I was a swim coach for five years and worked with children between the ages of 5 and 18. I've taught numerous individual swimming lessons.
I have also worked as a writer/editor. I would be happy to teach writing and editing skills to middle school, high school and college students.
I am happy to provide my resume.
Good luck in your search.
Best,
Bridget
