I am a former 8th grade history teacher and coach. I now work in an international non-profit, but tutoring is a way for me to feed my love of education and teaching. I graduated from Georgetown University with a G.P.A of 3.5 (3.8 in my major) with a bachelor’s degree in (i.e., political science), with a certificate in European Studies. During this time, I participated in the DC Reads Programs, tutoring inner-city children in English and math. After Georgetown, I taught 8th grade world history at a private school in Bethesda, where I was also an assistant coach in middle school and high school soccer, basketball, and softball (I played all 3 in high school). I was a program instructor (teacher) for the Close Up Foundation, which is non-profit organization that brings middle and high school students from around the country to D.C. for a week to learn about U.S. history and civics. I completed my master’s degree in international affairs at the George Washington University (G.P.A. of 3.9) last year. I now work for a non-profit citizen advocacy whose mission is to build the political and public will to end the hunger and the worst aspects of poverty. In my free time, I love to run (training for a marathon), read, and cook.
