Chess instruction is my forte. I am rated an expert player (USCF: 2000), which is just the right amount of skill for beginners to get a down-to-earth survey of the game. I have won 1st place for my section in three major chess tournaments, demonstrating that I know how to prepare for competition, and play to win. Knowing also to play for fun, I have taught kids as young as seven, as well as adults of all ages. I know the opening, middle-game, and end-game phases of chess thoroughly, have plenty of instructional material, advise, solid play and tricks and traps, patience and enthusiasm, and much chess philosophy -- all of which I look forward to sharing with you!
