I studied Italian in college under Graziana Lazzarino, the author of amazing Italian textbooks. After college, I lived for almost three years in Milan, Italy. After working for six months in an upscale furniture showroom and translating, I completed a two-year post-graduate program in Industrial Design at the Scuola Politecnica di Design di Milano. I also started an import business importing leather belts and handbags from Italy to the U.S. The import business finally forced me to relocate to NYC, but I traveled back and forth a lot.
I have taught Italian at Baruch College School of Continuing Education in NYC as well as private tutoring. I break down the grammar to make it easy to learn and use. I also emphasize conversation and pronunciation. (My pronunciation was so good that when I lived in Italy the Italians thought I was Italian). Interesting cultural tidbits season the lessons. My attitude is positive and enthusiastic. I will focus on whatever the student is interested in learning.
