I am a recent Rutgers University graduate with a double major in Chemical Engineering and Mathematics. I have tutored in the past from ages 5-21 in a range of science and math studies. From small groups to one-on-one sessions, I am comfortable with many different teaching atmospheres. My main goal as a tutor is to help the student become more comfortable with a particular subject they may be struggling with. But it is just as important to allow them to gain confidence and useful knowledge that will not only help them to survive a subject, but to thrive as a student.

Currently residing in Hillsborough, NJ, however at this time my schedule is a little tight. Please feel free to contact me and see if we can find time that will work for both parties. I look forward to working with the student and their guardians to help them succeed!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

AutoCAD

As an engineer, I use AutoCAD on a daily basis to design and draw many different things. This includes both small parts and large industrial systems. I am very proficient in teaching AutoCAD to engineers here at work who have not prior experience.

Computer Programming

I have completed both a math and engineering degree that included programming in many different languages such as C++, Java, MATLAB and Mathematica, with a specialty in MATLAB. I have designed programs from model predictions, to differential equations. I also have a thorough understanding of syntax for a variety of languages as well as a strong knowledge of programming logic.

General Music

I have had experience with both brass and woodwind instruments, along with some vocals over my academic career which extended from the 4th grade through 5 years of college. This included concert groups as well as competitive marching bands at Rutgers University. I have a general knowledge of music theory and some background in music history. I enjoy and have studied a variety of musical backgrounds.

Microsoft Outlook

I have a thorough understanding of the many intricacies of the new MS Outlook. If used properly, it can be an excellent tool for not only managing emails, but calendar options as well as meeting invitations. A true understanding of the ins and outs of MS Outlook is required for anyone who works with a large group or team atmosphere. Throughout my time in college and in the work force, I learned the many functions and can show even the newest of users how easy it truly is to use this software.

Microsoft Windows

Throughout my entire life I have always been a windows tech guy. Even though I am not an IT by trade, I have helped many individuals become accustomed to the ever changing world that is Windows. I can show the many different ways to use the system to fit your needs, and make it an efficient process. Whatever current system you may be working with, I can help.
