I love to teach and know there is no better way to make a difference in the lives of children, parents, teachers, school districts, and the world. I value high-interest, hands on, multi-sensory, multiple intelligences lesson planning, instruction and collaboration. When I set my sights on a project I am resourceful, passionate, compassionate, loyal, energetic and unstoppable. I have three children of my own ages 2.5, 8 & 11. There is no bigger challenge or demonstration of lifelong learning and commitment to education than parenthood.
I am a NJ Certified Teacher of the Handicapped, CEAS Elementary School Teacher in grades K-5, CEAS Teacher of Supplemental Instruction: Reading and Mathematics, grades K-8 with 5 years classroom experience, lesson planning, assessment and instruction. I was the co-founder of an educational program Wellspring Community School, and spent 3 years as a Volunteer Team Leader recruiting, training, coordinating and fundraising for a youth program.
For Reading I use the Orton-Gillingham Approach coursework. For Mathematics I use Khan Academy online lessons. I am an International Dyslexic Association (IDA) Member.
