Going through school with memory issues is a challenge. When teachers expect rapid fire memory recall and blunt memorization it deflates the ego and lowers test scores. No matter how intelligent a child is, the tests only ask for standardized answers. Every teacher thinks their specific information is more important than what you personally find interesting. How can someone keep up with it all?
Being one of those children who could not rattle off the states, capitals, or times tables in middle school it only got worse as more information was added. I will use the personal experiences gathered to prepare people of any age to memorize any required information. Should always ask yourself, Why do I need to know this?
Areas of personal study revolve around biology, geology, and art for a final goal of scientific illustration in paleontology. This field was a landmark creation since it embodies multiple disciplines such as math, sciences, and English (communication). As a paleontologist, dinosaurs and all other ancient life is of extreme interest to me and would make a fun mini class in your own home! Patience is a top priority since frustration is a main side effect.
Science is a large field of study and of great importance which should not be taken lightly, whether it's starting your children off on the right foot or having a study partner for the next test. Do not procrastinate.
