Tutoring has always been a passion of mine. I started out tutoring as an undergraduate student during my tenure at the State University of Albany, in New York. While attending the university, I majored in Atmospheric and Environmental Science and obtained a minor in Mathematics and Statistics. During my studies I took several courses throughout the science discipline, ranging from the classic sciences, such as chemistry and physics, to more innovative topics including earth and environmental science, oceanography, geology, and meteorology. Because my major relied heavily on underlying mathematical principles, I was also afforded the opportunity to take several math and statistics courses, ranging from basic algebra and trigonometry to more advanced topics such as calculus and differential equations.
In my spare time, I was employed as and Academic Athletic Tutor from my sophomore through senior years, and was responsible for tutoring student athletes during their respective sports season. While the majority of my time was spent tutoring students in science and math, I also tutored several students in courses such as American and Global History. I also participated in an outreach program sponsored by the university where I was able to travel to the local high school several times per week and help students in core subjects, including science, math and history.
After I finished graduate school at Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, I found part-time work as a Tutor in my home town while looking for a job in my particular field. During this time I worked with a licensed psychotherapist and educational professional in tutoring students in a wide variety of subjects, ranging from math and science to history and English. I also gained valuable experience in working with students with special needs, including those who suffered from ADHD. My patient attitude and dedication to my students helped them achieve success in whatever particular subject they needed help in.
I am ready, willing and able to help my students achieve academic success. I am knowledgeable in my field and will strive to help students obtain their goals - whether it be doing well on a particular test, raising their score by a full letter grade or more, or simply trying to get into a a good college or enrich themselves in a specific area of interest. I will continue to work with you until we are both happy with your progress. My hours are flexible and I am willing to go above and beyond to help you succeed in your educational endeavors.
