My background in the arts includes a twenty-five year career on Broadway as an actor working closely with some of the best and most successful directors in the business, including Hal Prince, Susan Stroman, Trevor Nunn, and Kathleen Marshall, to name a few.
I recently achieved a personal career aspiration starring opposite Catherine Zeta-Jones, Angela Lansbury and Bernadette Peters in the Broadway revival of A Little Night Music. In addition to working on Broadway and theaters around the country, I have been teaching as a master class and workshop / intensive instructor. It’s an interesting time to be transitioning in my career -– favoring the educational side of the arts over performing. But I now feel that teaching a full day of the arts has come to mean more to me and given me a sense of purpose than any successful performance endeavor.
I feel very lucky to have spent these years performing, while simultaneously building a solid reputation as a respected teacher and industry professional creating curriculum for students of all ages. In addition to teaching theatre intensives in the New York City area and around the country, my wife and I have been working closely with the Segerstrom Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa, CA, where we developed a very successful Broadway intensive for students aged eleven through eighteen. I would love to bring my ideas, passion and lifelong experience in the theatre to students of all levels.
Most significantly, I know I can offer an empowering, structured, and meaningful educational experience to students with the goal of enriching all aspects of their lives, both within and beyond the arts.
