I am a highly passionate teacher of chemistry. I have a great amount of experience in tutoring and teaching chemistry. I tutored at Rutgers University during my time there from 2002-2008 as a Peer Tutor while completing my chemistry degrees. I am a State Certified Teacher of Chemistry in the state of NJ and have taught high school chemistry for 2 years in Newark Public Schools from 2008-2010. I also have experience teaching and tutoring students as a Teaching Assistant while I was at Purdue University between 2010-2011.
My tutoring methods involve aiding students in developing problem solving skills via demonstrations and techniques. I do not give students the answers directly. I use indirect methods of questioning in order for the student to arrive at the answer themselves.
I have a Master's of Science degree in Organic Chemistry and I have been a tutor for 10 years in all areas of chemistry. I have tutored at Purdue University for organic chemistry for 2 years. I will work with students to help solve organic reaction mechanisms, Lewis structures, and predicting organic reactions.
