My career as a writer and educator spans over twenty-five years. I have published hundreds of articles for magazines in New York and New Jersey and am certified to teach English in both states.
I've got a passion for teaching and learning and put a great deal of thought and prep work into tutoring. You will find me mature, understanding, dependable, nurturing, creative, and hard-working.
As the basis for lessons, I use high-quality books and supplementary educational materials to build writing, language, critical thinking,and reading comprehension skills. I create a positive learning environment to put students at ease and motivate them to learn and stretch their minds and imaginations.
I also provide test preparation for NJ ASK, PSAT/SAT, ACT, AP English, and Praxis I and II exams using proven strategies, texts, sample exams, and my own specially-created study materials.
When students require assistance with class projects, tests or essays, I adapt lessons to meet their individual, immediate needs. I also help high school students write excellent junior research papers and college application essays.
Before I moved to New Jersey, I worked as a copywriter/director of educational book clubs in New York City. I graduated magna cum laude from Brooklyn College and am certified to teach grades 6-12 English in New Jersey.
