Using my Mechanical Engineering degree as a start, I got into design of computer circuits and electronic calculating systems. I learned programming and, after some work on the early GPS's and missile navigation, I started a software engineering consulting company.

After retiring, I taught courses in programming at Fairleigh Dickinson U. I have served as a volunteer tutor in algebra at Dwight Morrow HS in Englewood and at Park Vista HS in Lake
Worth, Florida.

I have found that most of the problems that show up in Algebra 1 and 2 are solved by application of a few well-defined procedures, and finding where these procedures can be applied to problems is more productive than memorizing solution methods for each type of example.
