After 20 years of successful teaching experience with adults and children, I've learned how to communicate concepts and skills across in a supportive, stress-free atmosphere. Both music and mathematics are subjects to love, and learning should be a joy.

Music,, whether popular or classical, can be shared with others and the student can enjoy increasing achievement in technique and understanding of musical concepts. Keyboard facility opens the door to participation in bands and/or chamber groups, amateur or professional, as well as employment in theater, choral, or church accompaniment or entertaining as a solo artist. I have had professional experience in most of these areas, and can guide students who aspire to involvement in them.

Music may be a requirement for certain elementary teaching positions; mathematics is certainly a requirement for the ACT, SAT and even high school graduation. However, mathematics can be enjoyed for its own sake, and through math training, students can learn to think in new and effective ways about the world around them.

I especially enjoy tutoring seniors, as I have seen the progress my adult students have made. Both music and math are wonderful exercises for the mind.

I have had several plays produced (Stormy Weather Players, Turtleshell Productions, Smart Play Lab, Avatar Repertory Theatre). The last is available on the Internet, and was also published in Third Coast Magazine. I have taught creative writing at Ramsey Adult School and at the Englewood and Teaneck Senior Centers.

I've also been a member of the Verismo Opera chorus and the Strawberry Opera Company.
