I am a certified teacher of English, French, Latin, and Spanish, and a native speaker of Italian. I have taught and or tutored all of these languages since 1952. Italian was the first foreign language that I learned, starting at the age of six, as the language we spoke at home was Sicilian. The second foreign language I learned was Latin, starting at the age of 10. At the age of 16 I arrived in the United States of America and started to learn English, while at school I took French, and continued with Latin, completing two years of College Latin. Spanish I learned as I went along, as it is similar to Sicilian, and I earned credits to satisfy the requirements for certification to teach the language: I am teaching Spanish to a group of students presently, and have a group of students lined up who want to learn Italian. The class has not started as yet.
