I am an experienced educator with a solid academic background and hands-on teaching experience. I have been teaching in the public school system for the past 12 years, and I have been working as a private tutor for the past seven years. I have taught for the past eight years the inclusion class in my school district.
I have the ability to interact effectively with students to create a positive and exciting learning environment. My skills are that I am certified in elementary education, Orton-Gillingham, and special education. One of my strengths that I have is that I also worked during the summer at my school to rewrite the curriculum for the past eight years. By doing this work I am aware of the material and skills that students need to know at the grade level and what they should know for the following school year.
I use a combination of hands-on materials along with technology and worksheets. I feel that I meet the needs of all the ways to learn when I am tutoring a child. I also communicate with your child's teacher to update them on your child's progress.
I look forward to working with you and your child.

I have been an elementary school teacher for the past 11 years and I teach public speaking in my classroom. My first step is to have the speaker know the topic that they are going to be presenting. The more confident they are on the subject the easier it is for them to be able to speak about it. The next step is for them to practice and know their audience. The last step is when they are up in front of their audience to give them eye contact.
I have a Master's in Special Education from William Paterson University. I am also certified to teach special education. I have been certified to teach special education for 6 years.
I am a special education teacher with a Master's in special education. I have had the inclusion class in my school for the past 6 years. Also, my district has hired me as a home tutor for students with special needs.

Resourceful, patient teacher — We are delighted to be working with Rene. She is a perfect fit for my son. She even followed up with a call to say that she found additional visual aids for him at her home. 11/26/12 Although I try to help my son in his writing, it becomes an overwhelming task for the both of us. I am so appreciative of our sessions with Rene. Last night was one of those invaluable lessons where she helped h ...
