Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Career Development

During the summer between my junior and senior year of college, I interned with the Fordham University Career Services office under the associate director. It was an amazing experience in which I reviewed and revised cover letters and resumes, met with employers, and shadowed counseling sessions with students.

College Counseling

My college search was quite extensive. I researched 200 schools, visited 36, and applied to 12 (getting into 10). I then volunteered for my college's admissions office as a campus host and participated in focus groups to improve student outreach. I worked for two years as a tour guide as well, which gave me insight to the workings of a college admissions office as well as insight into what colleges are looking for in students. I also networked extensively with directors of undergraduate admissions at both Georgetown University and Wagner College.

Cooking

I have a passion for cooking. I create dishes ranging from Chicken Chipotle Pasta to tomato sauce fresh from the garden with homemade pasta. I want to help others find the joy of cooking.

Sociology

I took two sociology courses in college, SOC 101 and Sociology of the Self and Society, and received an A and A+ respectively.
