Hi everyone! I'm a Princeton University graduate in Mechanical Engineering specializing in math, science, and test prep. I scored 790M/780W/760CR on my SATs; I am a National Merit Finalist for the PSAT, and I earned perfect 5s on: Physics C E&M, Calculus BC, Physics C Mech, Biology, Psychology, Physics B, and English Lang. I am a recipient of College Board's National AP Scholar award, and I scored an 800 on the SAT II Math Level 2 test. I have tutored over 100 different students in the New Jersey area since September 2013, and I teach multiple classes for homeschooled students.

My students have seen dramatic improvement in their scores from my tutoring. One of my most recent students in SAT prep earned 800CR/800M, and another earned a combined score of 2290!

I'd love to teach you in any of my listed academic subjects. I favor a dual approach, focused on both understanding concepts and going through practice problems. Let me know what concepts you're struggling with before our session, so I can streamline the session as much as possible!

In my free time, I like to play with my pet chickens, play Minecraft, code up websites, and write sci-fi creative stories. I participate in NaNoWriMo every year!

** Meeting locations: The Chester Library, Clarence Dillon Library, and Barnes & Noble in Bridgewater **
Unfortunately, I can no longer accommodate students who do not meet me in one of these three locations.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

College Counseling

I have helped high-schoolers in NJ over the past year and a half with the college process. I have given them resume guidance, told them my strategy for writing the perfect college essay, and taught them how to properly assess colleges (and not be fooled by what's in the tours!). I've also guided students on how to "package" themselves for specific college programs through their essays.

Mechanical Engineering

I have a BSE in Mechanical Engineering from Princeton University. I took Statics, Dynamics, Fluids, multiple design classes, Controls, Finite Elements, Heat Transfer, and Materials. I conducted a 2-semester senior project where I designed and built a chicken egg incubator, which employed automatic control (Ziegler-Nichols method) using an Arduino, and featured a novel "shifting floor" design.

Physics

I got 5s in the following AP tests: Physics B, Physics C Mechanics, Physics C E&M.

Web Design

I have been designing websites in HTML and CSS for several years. (I have implemented a bit of PHP as well.) I served as Webmaster of multiple student organizations in college, such as Princeton's chapter of ASME and Princeton Pro-Life.

Great at explaining difficult concepts! — Caroline has helped significantly increase my daughter's confidence in tackling physics in just a few weeks, not to mention helped her increase her grade. Other tutors did not seem to be able to explain concepts in a way our daughter understood, but Caroline certainly does. ...
