Today's educational demands on our students are at times stressful and can feel overwhelming. Perhaps as a student you are feeling less successful with your reading skills, language capabilities, literature test scores and overall vocabulary comprehension? For the last 30 plus years I have been tutoring individuals with these type of difficulties successfully. I am a certified English teacher in New Jersey with a background in Reading. I have also taught ESL students and adults wishing to increase vocabulary in the workplace. My goal as a tutor is to bring you comfortably to your personal best and help you develop a sense of confidence in subject areas mentioned. I taught Special Needs children in Sewell, NJ at the HollyDell School for four years. The children were ages 4 - 19.
I have taught grades K and 4th. At that time my Kindergarten class scored highest in the district of Patterson, NJ in overall comprehension and Reading . By the time my students entered first grade they were proficient in Hand Writing and all the students were on a reading level well into the first grade at the beginning of the term. These students were not coming out of a economically advantaged bracket. However, with patience, and a personal desire to have all my students exceed minimum Reading, Writing and Spelling objectives my students happily rose to higher requirements.
I taught special need children for five years in Sewell, New Jersey as a special needs full time teacher. My students ranged in age from toddlers to young adult. The level of abilities were moderate to severe, however, all lessons were geared specifically for the abilities of individual students. Different modalities were employed using music, large visual aids and manipulative aids where needed.
