Hi! My name is Jen. I am dependable and responsible. I also have excellent organizational and communication skills. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, listening to music, reading, and playing on the computer.

In June 2011, I graduated from Rowan University with my master's degree in collaborative teaching (elementary education and special education).

I have my NJ Teaching Certificates in:
- Elementary School Teacher Grades K-5
- Reading
- Teacher of Students with Disabilities

During the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school years, I worked as an in-class support and pull out special education teacher for Kindergarten through fourth grades. I am currently an elementary special education teacher providing in-class support and resource instruction for third through fifth grades. During these experiences, I worked with students with a range of disabilities including Autism, learning disability, ADHD, communication disorder, multiple disabilities, and other health impaired. I have experience using a range of teaching styles and curricula including Everyday Math, Envision Math, Reading Street, My Sidewalks, Foundations, Leveled Literacy Intervention, Sitton Spelling, Guided Reading, irla, Words Their Way, Writing Workshop, and Reading Workshop. I also have experience with a range of assessments including DIBELS, DRA 2, and Running Records.

In addition to being an elementary teacher, I also have experience tutoring many children ranging from kindergarten through 8th grade in reading and math.

I strongly believe that instruction should be based on the student's needs, interests, and learning style. During the first session, I do a couple of assessments with the student in order to learn more about the student's needs, interests, and learning style. Instruction should engage the student and relate to the student's prior knowledge. It is also important that instruction is engaging and fun for the student. Therefore, I try to use instruction that is hands-on and engaging for the student.

References and resume are available. I look forward to hearing from you.
