My name is Alison and I want to help you find the best college fit!
I graduated in May 2012 from the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education with an M.S.Ed. in School and Mental Health Counseling. I am a College Counselor who will help you with the college search and application process, as well as with academic advising. Before graduate school, I completed all coursework for UCLA Extension's College Counseling Certificate Program. My experience includes internships at a top ranked New Jersey high school where almost all graduates go to college, Girard College in Philadelphia, and White Williams Scholars, a program that works with Philadelphia public school students interested in pursuing higher education. I have also spent a number of years as a representative for my own college's Admissions Volunteer Network. As the stepparent of a current high school senior, I have first hand experience going through the process with a family member and understand it from a parent’s perspective.
I enjoy working with all students and will help with any grade level, whether you are a ninth grader wondering where the process starts or a senior concerned about submitting all of your applications on time. A few of the things I can help with include creating a list, visiting colleges, writing essays, organizing to meet deadlines, understanding NCAA rules, completing financial aid applications and much more. In addition, having worked as a Designer for over a decade, I have particular expertise in working with students interested in pursuing art and design in college.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you to find the right college.
