I enjoy helping students find their writing voices to create effective communications. My experience encompasses tutoring students of all ages, from elementary to graduate university levels in writing and general language arts. I have successfully helped many students edit papers and compose college applications and essays. I conduct low-stress one-on-one sessions to provide kind and sincere feedback and help. In addition, I have significant experience in the marketplace helping businesses create an array communications.

My educational credentials include a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from Northwestern University. My experience includes positions in corporate communications and marketing with responsibilities to write company newsletters, press releases and business plans. In addition, I have provided private tutoring services for many years and worked with schools to develop educational curricula.

I believe that early reading education requires a blend of phonetic and whole language skills. Moving forward, comprehension skills are important. But nourishing a lifetime love for reading is key to reading excellence.

The challenge of excellent writing is to find a voice that communicates clearly and expressively. I have significant experience, particularly at high school and university levels, working with writers to produce well-edited, interesting, and purposeful writing.

English is an interesting, versatile and fun language to learn.

SAT Writing

SAT writing requires excellent technique, craftsmanship, and a strong personal voice. Practice and focus is important to SAT writing which requires that extra sparkle to shine. I truly enjoy coaching this subject and have helped many students improve.

I have enjoyed assisting many high school students climb up and over the college admissions mountain. How do I receive a discount?

Save between 5 and 15% on tutoring by purchasing credit with one of our prepaid discount packages. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
