ACT English

English
I am a competent native speaker of English. My minor in college was linguistics, so I have studied the grammar and syntax of English extensively. I also scored 800 on the Critical Reading section of the SAT.
Geometry
As a college math major, I have a strong command of geometry. I also helped peers with their math homework and tutored students in SAT math.
Grammar
A self-proclaimed "grammar cop," I have helped friends and family improve their understanding of English grammar. My minor in college was linguistics, and I also tutored SAT Writing.
GRE
I have tutored SAT/ACT prep, which covers most of the same material as the GRE. I also took the GRE and scored 1480 (800 Math, 680 Verbal).
Japanese
I have studied Japanese for many years, starting with independent study in high school. I then took 3 years of the language in college. I received a passing score on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test, Level 3 (Intermediate).
Latin
I took Latin for four years in high school, earning a gold medal on the National Latin Exam each year, and 5's on the AP tests for Latin literature and Vergil. I also participated in the Junior Classical League's "Certamen" competitions, where I won awards at the state and national level.
Physics
In high school I took two years of physics, earning 5's on the AP Mechanics and Electromagnetism exams. I also took four semesters of physics in college.
Precalculus
As a college math major, I have full command of precalculus topics. I also helped peers with their math homework and tutored students in SAT math.
Probability
As a college math major, I have full command of probability topics. In high school I took AP statistics, and in college I took a semester course in advanced probability theory. I also helped peers with their math homework and tutored students in SAT math.
PSAT
In high school I earned a 229 on the PSAT and a 2380 on the SAT. I have also worked as an SAT/ACT tutor for another tutoring company where I helped raise students' scores by over 200 points.
Reading
An avid reader, I am hardly ever seen without a book. I can teach general reading strategies, and I have experience teaching Critical Reading for the SAT/ACT as a tutor for another tutoring company.

Trigonometry
As a college math major, I have full command of trigonometry topics. I also helped peers with their math homework and tutored students in SAT math.
Vocabulary
In high school I was so obsessed with vocabulary that I would make my own lists of words to supplement the textbook. I was a linguistics minor in college, and I also have strong command of Latin and Greek, which has enhanced my understanding of the etymology of words.
