As an elementary school teacher for 11 years, I have had the opportunity to work at all of the elementary grade levels. My experiences as a classroom teacher at 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade has made me extremely well versed in content and curriculum knowledge. There has not been a summer since I began teaching that I have not tutored children in various grade levels other than what I have taught throughout the year.
Although content and curriculum are extremely important while tutoring, so is the relationship that is formed between the tutor and the student. My ability to connect and then differentiate learning based on the students needs is an ability that I hold as one of my best assets.
My use of technology and current educational practices makes me a highly qualified educator. For 11 years, I have also worked hand in hand with special education students and have had extreme success in building self-confidence and self reliance.
