Hello! I am ready to help your child succeed. This past year helped me develop as an educator as I encountered many different teaching experiences. I currently work as a middle school math instructor in an urban school and prior to this school year I taught a summer course at a military boarding school. I graduated from Rutgers University's Graduate School of Education with a Master's in K-5 and 6-8 mathematics education. I tutor in the Cherry Hill area, preferably at the public library and I make it a priority to understand each student's strengths, weaknesses and personal interests. With this I can customize tutoring sessions on an individual level. I also enjoy bringing creativity into the learning process and would describe my style of teaching as unique in I focus my practices on discovery-based learning. I help students take the necessary steps to become responsible for their learning. This approach "sticks" with students longer and allows them to become independent thinkers.
A bit more about me, I come from a large family and have assumed the role of a helper and teacher at a young age. I enjoy running, exercising, yoga, cooking and painting. I utilize my own interests in creating my material for sessions and enjoy bringing a part of my personal style into teaching. In the next year or so I plan to go back to school to work towards my doctorate degree in math/urban education. If you have any more questions, please e-mail me!
