I have over 3 years' experience in teaching High School Chemistry and Physics. I have 5 years of lab research studying air pollution. I have retired after 30 years of programming both scientific and commercial. When tutoring I stress methodology, drill and constant review. Math and physical sciences (Chemistry and Physics) work in team with each other so I keep an eye on both. There are always everyday reasons for many problems, so I try to bring this into the tutoring experience.
I stress form in problem solving; it is most important to clearly show ALL the steps how you got an answer, right or wrong.
I have a BS in Chemistry Ed from SUNY Fredonia, an MS in Computer Science from Fairleigh Dickson, and I am published in the American Chemical Society.
Knowing science and math not only makes us better citizens it makes us better consumers.
It is important to learn how to read a problem and give a good clean answer.
And for fun I like to play on rivers.
