I held a teaching assistantship while studying for my MA and have always enjoyed teaching. My full-time job is in financial services, which means I present (or explain) new systems to different job levels in corporations and I have to be good at it. I pride myself on being able to communicate and I can present concepts in understandable terms. This ability enables me to prepare students for their SAT, ACT Math tests and help them understand Algebra, Geometry, and basic math.

I have been tutoring on a part-time basis for years and am very proud that 3 of my students achieved perfect math scores on their SAT. I start by explaining how to study and teach substitution methods to make complex problems easy. One of the best compliments that I have received was that I made math fun, understandable and enjoyable. Bottom line is that I can improve math scores.

Chess

I started playing chess in high-school and was president of the chess club and class champion. I have continued to play for fun, relaxation and mental stimulation. I both enjoy and love the game.

Logic

As a Math major at Rutgers University; logic was part of my diploma requirements. I enjoyed this course and did very well. I also found that the logic course provided me with a solid base for other subjects, as well as for business because logical thinking is a requirement for making good decisions. I have the experience, the patience, and the knowledge to effectively tutor this subject.

Praxis

I hold a BA in Mathematics from Rutgers University and have been a successful one-on-one tutor for many years. One of my areas of specialization is preparing students to take standardized tests.
I am a very patient tutor who will help prepare you for the Praxis Test by reviewing sample test problems, teaching time management and problem-solving and checking techniques, and by building math confidence.
