I am an experienced educator and tutor of multiple science, math, and computer science related subjects. I particularly excel at making difficult subjects (at any level) understandable. I know, from working with students of all abilities and grades, that anyone can learn science and math. Sometimes it requires a dedicated educator to help someone through the parts of something that they don't understand. Sometimes, it requires a teacher and educational partner who can understand a student's difficulties and design a complete curriculum that will enable them to learn a subject. I can do (and have done) both of these, as well as many other courses of study, personalized for each student's needs and for their particular subject.
My education at the Bachelor's level is in zoology and mathematics, with minors in computer science, chemical physics, and animal science. I tutored veterinary school students in all aspects of math and science, especially physiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and calculus (all required for vet school). I have also taught computer programming and robotics to students of all ages.
I earned my Master's degrees from Texas A&M University in Entomology (Bioinformatics, systematics, and ecology) and Science Education (teaching science and math in the middle grades) while teaching science and math at a STEM charter school (Harmony Science Academy) in Bryan, TX. My students, in their first year with me, earned gold and silver medals in many academic competitions, including first, second, and fifth places at the ISWEEEP International Science Fair in Houston, TX for engineering, computer programming, physiology and medicine, and environmental science.
