I have been working with children since 1996. Currently, I am a paraprofessional working in Litchfield with middle school students. I was a substitute teacher with both the Merrimack and the Nashua School districts. I thoroughly enjoy working with students and seeing them reach their full potential. I have effective behavior management techniques that I implement each day that ensures that the students are able to learn without distractions. I also teach whole class lessons as well as small groups and provide one-on-one instruction to the students. In addition to working in the public schools, I tutor in the evenings and on weekends at the Huntington Learning Center. I also am a certified health and safety instructor with the American Red Cross where I instruct First Aid, CPR and babysitting classes to the businesses and lay responders in New Hampshire.
As Employment Specialist with the Nashua Center for the Multiply Handicapped, I have worked with organizations within the Greater Nashua area to provide volunteer and paid opportunities for the individuals which the agency serves. What I bring to the position that may be unique among candidates is my three-year background in the human services field. Working with adults with developmental disabilities, I have gained experience in developing strategies that address their yearly goals and assist in including them in the community. I feel this experience augments my instructional background and would provide a unique perspective to students I will tutor in the future. I am also a diligent and detailed-oriented worker, a team player and possess a positive attitude, all of which are important for a professional teacher.
I look forward to hearing from you soon to discuss the potential for opportunities to assist students in their time of need.
