My name is Jennifer, and I am a fine artist who specializes in painting with oil.
I am always thrilled to have the opportunity to demonstrate to students the fascinating nuances of this very old craft.
The joy of painting comes from discovering the qualities of the paint and then learning to manipulate it, so that the paint transforms itself into the wonderful vehicle of your creative expression.
Painting opens and feeds the mind; it is beautiful, scientific, unassuming, forgiving, satisfying, meditative and challenging by it's nature.
It is also strenuous, because it requires the use of both sides of the brain simultaneously. Ideally, a painter becomes calm and introspective while painting, and learns to tap into the pliable, confident, inner-self to help make the many decisions which painting requires. Learning to confidently express and execute one's decisions is a valuable life-tool, indeed.
In addition to teaching the craft, I also consider it an honor to share with a student, the engaging historical, scientific and anthropological background associated with the art of painting.
Art is a source of lifelong enjoyment, and I sincerely hope that I may be the one to help foster that skill in you or your child.
