Good Morning: I have a BS degree in education and biological sciences from Ohio University and a Masters of Arts degree from the same in Organizational Communications and Management. I've spent the past 35 yrs. in the business world in operations, advertising, promotions, sales and marketing. During this period I've worked for Fortune 500 companies, family businesses both in the USA and Canada. My titles have included COO, Vice President, and National Sales and Marketing Mgr. This has been on a regional and national basis in the real world with the top retailers and wholesalers nationally(Home Depot, Wal-mart, Lowe's, Costco, True Value, Ace, etc.).
One of my key responsibilities has been to conduct training programs and coaching outside sales agents, customers and their employees. I've been involved in approx. 1,000 meetings where training has been required and over 200 trade shows where tutoring and training new customers was required in sales, marketing, and the "how to's" related to product development, advertising and promotion.
I'm well qualified to tutor students in basic business skills, including etiquette, writing, organization, consumer products, distribution, purchasing, inventory control, product merchandising, product development, advertising/promotion,lean manufacturing, basic marketing, interviewing skills, selling techniques, risk & quality mgt.,etc. This is about hands on skills that allows the student to better understand how things work and what careers are available based upon their interests in these areas.
Along the way I was part of a national basketball championship in college and coached youth sports in basketball, baseball and soccer for over 10 yrs. I've also participated the community thru Kiwanis for 10 plus yrs. and also enjoy photography.
