I have been teaching high school science for twelve years and within this time I have been fortunate enough to work with a wide variety of students.
Upon the arrival of our son almost four years ago, I resigned from teaching full time. However, I continue to teach and tutor students on a part time basis. Within these two years I have been teaching many areas of science with the Goffstown Adult Education Program. Teaching within this program has allowed me to expand my content knowledge in areas outside of biology. These areas include earth science, space science and physical science. The classes within the Goffstown Adult Education Program consist of students from high school and beyond with various academic skills. While I have been exposed to different content areas I have also been able to stay current with my teaching methods in the classroom. Along with teaching in the Goffstown Adult Education Program, I have also been tutoring students on an individual basis in the area of biology. This experience has allowed me to stay abreast on current biology curriculums in various school districts. Working with students on an individual basis has enhanced my teaching methods and allowed me to differentiate instruction for each student.
Completing my Master’s Degree in Educational Administration has helped to expand my knowledge of the educational system. While working on my Master’s I gained a better understanding of how a school and a district operate as a whole. This has helped me to reflect on my teaching practices and my role as a member of the school community.
I feel that my past professional experiences as well as my personal qualities help me to be successful in helping students achieve their goals. I look forward to hearing from you to discuss future employment opportunities.
