With my long passion for education and continued learning, I am pleased to offer high impact tutoring in a number of subject areas.
I have over 10 years of experience tutoring people of all ages (young children to older adults returning to school). As an undergraduate I developed and ran a tutoring and mentorship program for children in grades K-5, during which time I witnessed tremendous academic growth in my students. I have also prepared high school students for their Advanced Placement (AP) and college entrance exams (SAT and ACT), and worked with college students on their math and writing skills.
A reward for me has been helping my students gain new knowledge and skills or grasp concepts they may have struggled with for some time. For instance, I have made math easier for many of my students to understand (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus and statistics). In addition, in terms of writing essays and papers, I have enjoyed providing assistance with thesis development, framework and final editing.
At this time, I largely provide tutoring and instruction for standardized tests: ISEE, SSAT, PSAT/NMSQT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests (Biology and Mathematics), ASVAB, GRE, GMAT, MCAT. I also assist with homework and preparation for midterm and final exams.
In the past I received acknowledgement as a PSAT/NMSQ National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist and Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar.
