I have a BS and MS in Nutritional Science. I have loved being in school for as long as I can remember - both learning and helping others learn and discover. My interests and skills are primarily in math and science, but really I just enjoy helping students excel in whatever area they need.
My experiences as a tutor/teacher include tutoring for the University of New Hampshire Athletic Department; I tutored athletes in various science courses during my junior and senior years in college. I have also tutored many of the youth in my community in math and science courses. In addition to that, I have taught labs in Nutrition courses and Writing for a writing intensive Nutritional Biochemistry course at UNH for several years. I've taught piano to beginner students for many years as well.
I love being able to help students who are confused, struggling, or uninterested; to make things clear, to see them finally 'click' and make sense, to help bring them to that 'aha' moment, and to inspire them in whatever the topic by making it interesting, understandable and relevant. I like to come prepared each week with whatever we need to go over/the student is learning; I am an excellent communicator and gracious/understanding of the time it takes to learn.
I have been blessed over the years with excellent teachers who have made learning exciting for me, and I want to do the same for others.
