Teaching and learning languages is not only a profession, but also a personal passion for me. Currently, I serve as an English and Spanish teacher. In addition to receiving majors in English and Spanish as well as teaching endorsements in both languages in the U.S., I have also taught in classrooms, served as a private tutor, and completed educational research on three continents.
Before receiving a Fulbright scholarship to Spain, I taught and tutored students in South America with a Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. My student teaching, practicum, and tutoring opportunities in Nebraska and abroad reinforced my desire to share my love for languages.
As a native Nebraskan, I enjoy working within my home state and extending both linguistic and cultural knowledge. All of my teaching strategies and methods are based on recent research as well as my personal observations and analyses of classroom practices. My teaching is designed to engage students and ultimately motivate them to achieve their goals independently.
