My name is Kathy, and I may be the ideal tutor for you or your child!
I graduated from North Dakota State University in December 2010 with a Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences along with a Teaching Certificate (my undergraduate degree is in Biology), and I worked for a year after graduation at a local Community & technical College teaching human anatomy & physiology. As part of earning my teaching certificate I taught an anatomy & physiology lecture to 100 pre-professional students. At the community college, lectures were smaller (approx. 25-40 students) and I taught labs as well, developing curriculum for that (which included cat dissection).
Aside from teaching, I also have a lot of work experience with developing training curriculum for employees. I have also worked with individuals with developmental disabilities in the past, which has truly made me a more patient individual.
In general, I favor a "hands-on" approach to teaching that involves a lot of interaction between the tutor and student, and concrete experiences in addition to worksheets. However, my specific methods vary according to the subject being taught and the learning style of the student.
I look forward to hearing from you!
