My main interests lie in a combination of courses dealing with history, politics, business organization, and philosophy; I am particularly interested in US history and political science; I have written several books: one was entitled Politics In Compassion, dealing with recent US history from FDR until the present, examining the role of compassion and/or empathy as an historical construct. Presently, I am completing my doctoral degree in business administration; specifically dealing with the topic of Third World Poverty. However, my first love has always been topics dealing with history and politics. However, I would also be interested in helping with topics which are business in nature.
In serving as a tutor, I try to examine all aspects of a particular topic; this might include the so-called American Studies program, which is interdisciplinary in nature. That is, a topic might be addressed from a multitude of academic disciplines: for example, history, politics, philosophy, literature, and religion. History examined from an interdisciplinary kind of approach, I believe, provides the student with a greater number of overall perspectives, which can only serve to enlighten student(s) to a much greater degree, and furthers the important process of questioning and, in turn, research at a much more indepth level.
