My name is Kelly and I am a certified Community Spanish Interpreter as well as being a recent UNCW Graduate with a major in Spanish from the College of Arts and Sciences. I also have an Associates of Science degree. I mention the latter only to list all titles earned so that you'll know more about me.
Some of the work that I have performed: I tutored Spanish at Cape Fear Community College for 2 years. I translated Port City Java' menu from English to Spanish. I had an internship with the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office where I acted as a medium of interpretation between the officers and inmates as well as screening all Spanish written mail for threats.
I have 2 small children, a five and two-and-a-half year-old. I only speak Spanish to one and she is very adept already.
I started out as a science student but soon found out that I really liked the Spanish language and so I continued on with what I've found interesting.
I am a very patient person. I understand from helping many different types of students that learning styles are different.
I adapt to your style of learning.
I create logical study strategies for successful student development.
I give encouragement with difficult concepts. Sometimes it just takes a cognitive leap, to get it!
I am able to talk with a student but also keep on task.
