I don't have any professional training in teaching. I have been tutoring for the past 4 years in various levels of mathematics for friends and through references. For most subjects in my entire academic career, I have found more success in teaching myself outside of class because I always had a hard time understanding my teachers in class. In tutoring, I find this an advantage because I'm able to put myself in the student's position and help them find a way to better understand not only how to do a problem, but the reasoning behind it. I'm a perfectionist and a problem-solver, but I'm very calm and patient and comfortable with any age.
