As a young student, I was always the kid that had to review...and review....and review (haha!! I think you get the point), while my classmates seemed to pick up the info so quickly...or so I thought. However, once I started to associate the info to my own life experiences, things started to become more clear. For instance, being that I am a sports fan, I would associate math to batting averages or completion percentages. In science, I would associate chemical and biological processes to cooking recipes since one thing typically depends on the other. I found that once the info became simplified to my own interests, things just started to click. I believe that this tactic is essential and effective in helping individuals re-structure their thought processes and see beyond the self-imposed mental blocks.
I am currently a research technician with a scientific company based out of RTP. My job involves patience, communication and problem solving. I believe that these 3 characteristics equip me with the essential tools needed to help an individual break through that wall. My tutoring experiences are currently tied mainly to my personal life at the moment. My wife is in her second year of grad school, and I have been helping her with her biochemistry and equations understanding. I am proud to announce that we have accomplished a multitude of study sessions, without any tension (HAHAHA!). If I can assist her and not lose my teeth, then I am more than confident that I can be of assistance to your young developing mind! Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
