My first tutoring experience came at the suggestion of one of my former professors. I had never thought of tutoring before, but my former professor really encouraged me to give it a try. To my surprise, I really enjoyed the fulfillment it gave me of knowing I was able to help someone in understanding a subject matter that they viewed as difficult.
I've also worked as a tutor at a middle school, in which I helped students prepare for the end of year grade tests, that determined if they would promoted to the next grade or not.
Overall, I'd say that tutoring is a gift that I'm able to offer to whomever wants it.
