I am very enthusiastic about learning and in fact I believe that I am a Lifetime Learner. I also consider myself a humanist and have been working within the human services field for 20 years. The approach that I take on with respect to teaching is a holistic approach because I believe that it is important to tailor the plan to fit for each individual.

Teaching is rewarding because it affords me an opportunity to share the knowledge and skills which I have acquired throughout the years. Finally, I believe that I am most effective and successful when I know that and can see that the goal has been met, that the individual has acquired the skills and tools which he or she can apply in future endeavors.

Criminal Justice

I have extensive academic skills in this area, including receiving an B.S. as a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology.

I have worked within the Human Services field during the last 20 years.

I am well versed in the area as I have continued to develop my skills in the area through my graduate studies and other professional developments opportunities. I have a taught Criminal Justice courses to undergrad students online as well as on campus.

I have proving instruction to individuals including family members, friends, students, colleagues, as well as clients for quite some time. Thus, I have an extensive diverse experience and am always eager to learn from others any tools which will make offer me new means for assisting others who are struggling when trying to learn a new language which not their native language.

Over the years, it has become very clear to me that that one of the key and essential components or elements to acquiring the skills or should I say mastering them is the individual's level of commitment. For example, once a person can truly commit to really applying the lessons; then he/she will see the difference. In other words it is really true that unless you "Use it (the language), you will lose it." Though, most individuals may be struggling with acculturation matters, they will have to commit to their new acquired skills which in turn will support them and lead them to the goal of mastering the ESL/ESOL skills.

Thank you for your consideration.

Study Skills

Hello Students,

I am really excited about the opportunity to share with you what I have learned over the years as it relates to learning. But, in order to understand and grasp an effective means of studying it is important to recognize that there are several competing theories about how people learn. To give a highly simplified overview, I can summarize it in the following categories:
• perceiving information
• processing information
• organizing and presenting information

Successful students have acquired and maintain good study habits. They apply these habits to all of their classes. I can teach you how to apply ten study habits which can help you throughout your education.

I am looking forward to meeting you and helping you improve your study habits :-)
