I attended a public high school in the state of Connecticut and graduated in the top 18% of my class with honors. After high school, I studied engineering at the University of Southern California and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. I have a strong interest and background in mathematics and have tutored students of all ages in Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1 & 2, Geometry and Trigonometry for the past 11 years, including settings geared toward preparing young students for PSAT and SAT math testing. I have primarily tutored one-on-one with students. However, I have 4 years of substitute teaching and adult education teaching experience, as well as experience with group tutoring, including as many as 12 math students in a given setting.

I most recently completed a Master of Science degree (2011-2013) from the University of Phoenix with a concentration in accounting/forensic accounting. In addition, I am a 12-year member of the United States Chess Federation, currently holding a professional rating and a Local Tournament Director designation. I enjoy teaching and tutoring new players of all ages in opening theory, principles, rules of the game, strategy and tactics. As with mathematics, I am available for one-on-one or group tutoring sessions.

I have been tutoring Algebra I students for the better part of the last 8 years. I am currently tutoring high school students in Algebra and Geometry. I provide my students with techniques and problem-solving strategies to help make the work easier to comprehend and perform.

Algebra 2

I've been tutoring students in Algebra II for the past 8 years. I am flexible with scheduling for my current students and will offer the same courtesy to you as well, should you decide you need my assistance with math tutoring.

Geometry

I have 8 years of experience working with geometry students. I have tutored students in general high school coursework as well as for standardized tests such as the EOC, SAT, PSAT, and others.

Prealgebra

I have 9 years of experience working with algebra and pre-algebra students. I've worked with many students for general school coursework, as well as for standardized test preparation.

I cover problem-solving strategies, techniques, and time-saving methods to further assist my students and to help maximize their grades and test-taking potential.

SAT Math

I have worked with many students preparing for the SAT and other standardized exams for the past 9 years. My main focus has been on the math sections, but I've assisted many students in other academic areas as well.

GRE

I am an active tutor and current graduate student at University of Phoenix. I scored 100% on WyzAnt's GRE tutoring exam and am available to assist students with GRE exam study and preparation.

GED

I have taught, instructed, and tutored GED students one-on-one and in small group settings, since the beginning of 2003. Most students would agree that I'm patient, responsible, and instructive with my lessons. I cover strategies and time-saving techniques to help students improve on their learning, understanding, and problem-solving abilities.

Elementary Math
